The founder and CEO of Uniswap, Hayden Adams, has announced that the decentralized exchange protocol will introduce a 0.15% swap fee for certain tokens starting on October 17. Adams expressed his satisfaction with Uniswap's role in increasing access to digital assets and challenging "gatekeepers" in the space. However, Uniswap is also focused on creating sustainable systems and upholding transparency and sustainability. This 0.15% swap fee will apply to tokens like ETH, USDC, WETH, USDT, DAI, and others listed on the Uniswap help center. Notably, it's among the lowest interface fees in the industry. Some tokens will be exempt from this fee, including stablecoin-to-stablecoin swaps and wrapping between ETH and WETH. This new fee is distinct from the Uniswap Protocol fee switch, which is governed by UNI token holders. Uniswap has been actively launching user-focused innovations, including the UniswapX Beta Protocol and a non-fungible token (NFT) aggregator.
